What Is AdBlue® and Why Does Your Fleet Need It?
AdBlue® is a 32.5% high-purity urea solution in deionised water, used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems fitted to Euro 4, Euro 5, and Euro 6 diesel engines. The SCR system injects AdBlue® into the exhaust stream, converting harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water vapour — reducing NOx by up to 90%.
Also known as Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) or AUS 32, AdBlue® is required by SCR-equipped vehicles to operate emissions-control systems correctly and meet applicable emissions requirements. Running without AdBlue® may trigger warnings, engine derate, or shutdown on many SCR-equipped Euro 5 and Euro 6 vehicles.
